Semaglutide is an antidiabetic medication used for the treatment of type 2 diabetics and an anti-obesity medication for long-term weight management.
I debated whether to take Semaglutide for various reasons. One was that it was expensive, and another was the side effects. So, instead of just ruling it out, I decided to talk to Ashley (the nurse/office manager) about it. I highly recommend that if you are trying any type of medication for the first time, you make sure to talk to a nurse or doctor that you trust.
For me, that’s my girl Ashley. I met her at the Ivy because, between all of the stress that was going on in my life at the time, the owner’s nasty attitude, and not losing any real weight despite following the program to the tee, I was about to quit. When I met Ashley she was one of the nurse at the clinic and she help me alot and while working with her I finally started to see real results. when you are trying to lose weight you don’t need negative energy because you already trying to do something that for some people don’t come natural. Weight loss, it’s easy to put on but like hell getting it off.
Without the semaglutide, I have lost a lot of weight, but I want to kick it into overdrive and lose the remaining weight. Ashley from Jump warned me of all of the side effects of the semaglutide. Here is where the two devils found their way to me: ego and pride. I convinced myself that thanks to kicking my nausea problem, even without Sprite, which was my go to with my nausea problems.
It was an uphill battle with Semaglutide from the start, and I played my part in the Semaglutide vs. Danielle case. Let’s start with the Thursday I was to start the semaglutide program. I can’t remember if I had overtime or was just tired from working overtime; I knew that I couldn’t get out of bed. But still feeling into my ego, I decide I’m ready to lose the rest of the weight. So I went on Friday, my last day off. Before and after the shot, Ashley cautioned me about the side effects. But delusional Danielle thought I got this that night i felt fine so natively though i beat the side effects. But that was the quiet before the storm.
As most of you know, i work overnight; when I lay down for my afternoon nap, i was good; however, when I woke up, I had the worst case of nausea I had in a very long time. I felt dizzy and out of it, and mind you, I did a 12-hour shift like that where I was up and moving every few hours. When I got off of work I went to CVS immediately Ashley mentioned that i can take over-the-counter medicine for the nausea.
I bought the extra strength version, and when i tell you in the words of my baby Tupac that shit was like Binaca to that nausea, it really was. As i mentioned before, I used to suffer from nausea. My go-to was Sprite. However, i hadn’t had a Sprite in almost two years by then, and i was afraid that it would worsen my situation. So I worked thru it had i started seeing results. I wasn’t eating much and my exercise game took a hit because of the nausea and falling asleep very easily. Thank God I have sick time because I end up using it.
Now that was just March, let’s make our way to April. April starts out rough as hell!! The nausea was still there and then the side effects of the vitamins. I bought some vitamins from the TikTok shop and I started taking them now why i did that with all of the turmoil I was already going through I do not know. So along with the nausea, and falling asleep easily I add dizziness and feeling completely high. Once again, using another sick day. I didn’t throw the vitamins away, however, I did stop taking them.
I want to say that I was on the lowest dosage of semaglutide and spoke with Ashley (the nurse at the clinic and my friend) on a regular. The semaglutide took over how i felt for a while. By mid-April, i was feeling a little better. I start finding my rhythm again. I stayed away from the vitamins since they were not getting along with semaglutide. I stay away from fried foods. I purchased my first air fry and set out to find a way to make the best air-fried chicken so i won’t miss Lousiana. I finally learned how to make delicious air-fried chicken. I got so good at it when my best friend Juy visited from Australia; we went to Louisiana, and i didn’t enjoy it at all. I haven’t been back either, which surprised me because I used to love Louisiana.
I recommend the semaglutide to anyone who has hit a plateau with their weight loss goals. I highly recommend you do your research and speak to trusted health professionals. Ashley from Jump gave me the pros and the cons, so i was never in the blind. I start to find a healthy alternative to my love of certain foods. You will have to put in the work but the results are definitely worth.
